School is out, and the season of pools, festivals, and outdoor activities has arrived! Keep your family busy all month long by checking out some of the June family-friendly activities around Louisville this month!


Cultural Pass

The 2022 Cultural Pass invites you to cross the bridge to creativity! Cultural Pass offers families in Greater Louisville with children ages 0-21 access to participate in arts and cultural activities provided by 57 venues, free of charge, from June 1 through September 4, 2022. You can pick up your passport starting on June 1.

The Cultural Pass is designed to inspire, explore, and discover new experiences. This year’s Cultural Pass will offer both in-person and virtual opportunities so that every family can participate in a way that works for them!


Story Time with Miss Prim

June 1 & 8 | 10 am to 11 am

Blackacre State Nature Preserve and Homestead | 3200 Tucker Station Road

Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Miss. Prim or Miss Ruby, donned in their 18th Century school dress, will lead story time at Blackacre. Brink your blanket and spread out under the shade of the tree by the horse pasture. There will also be music and bubbles!
Miss Prim promotes music, movement and literacy.

Free Event. Suggested donation of $5 to support our education programs and help with the care of our homestead.


Louisville Greek Festival

June 3 & 4 | 6 pm to 10 pm

Assumption Greek Orthodox Church | 930 Ormsby Lane

For many years, the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church has brought a touch of Greece straight to Louisville. This annual event features LIVE Greek music and dancing, authentic cuisine, and an outdoor marketplace.

Summer Reading Kickoff & Cultural Pass

June 4 | 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Kick-off your Summer Reading Adventure with a party at the Main Library! Come to Summer Reading Kickoff and Cultural Pass Day to enjoy FREE crafts and activities from the Library and Cultural Pass venues, as well as magic, face painting, and live performances from the Louisville Leopards, Flamenco Dance, and Redline Performing Arts. PLUS food trucks and coffee will be available, so you can have lunch on site too.


Southern Indiana Pride Parade & Festival

June 4 | 4 pm to 11 pm

Big Four Station Park | Pearl & Chestnut Streets, Jeffersonville, IN

Join us on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 as we kick off the 5th Annual Southern Indiana Pride Festival presented by Wellstone Regional Hospital! The party starts at 4PM with our Parade sponsored by Caesars Southern Indiana on Spring Street, and our family friendly, hometown festival takes place from 4PM-11PM at Big Four Station Park in Downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana!
This FREE event will feature locally made products and services in our vendor market, a family fun zone, live bands and drag performances on the Board & You Mainstage, 21+ Beer Garden sponsored by New Albany’s Pints&Union, locally owned Food Trucks, and NEW THIS YEAR an exclusive VIP Tent sponsored by The Alcove! We’re so excited to be together again!

Kentuckiana Pride Parade and Festival

June 18 | 12 pm to 10 pm

Big Four Lawn, Waterfront Park | 401 River Road

The Parade kicks off a full day of festivities at noon at the intersection of Campbell and Market, continue through the Nulu area, and end at the Big Four Lawn where the festival takes place until 10:00 PM.
Come join in the excitement with the Kentuckiana Pride Parade that kicks off our weekend festivities. The parade route is lined with thousands in our community who come to celebrate and support diversity. Every year the festival features over 100 vendors including local non-profits, artists, businesses + great food.

Ford Father’s Day at the Zoo

Celebrate Dad by treating him to a FREE Father’s Day at the Zoo.

Enjoy FREE Zoo admission for dads on this special day courtesy of Ford Motor Company. Have a fun day outdoors together as you spend family time with the animal families at the Zoo. Visit animal dads like gray seal Boone (father of Finsby) and “adoptive” gorilla father Casey who looks after little Kindi in his family group.
