Our hearts go out to our families, friends, and communities devastated by the tornadoes this past weekend. As we check in on our loved ones, please consider donating to those in need during this time. Looking for ways to help Western Kentucky tornado disaster relief? Our LMC contributors have compiled a short list of local organizations who will be providing items and services to these communities.

JCPS Stuff the Bus

“SHOW YOUR SUPPORT | JCPS is hosting a “Stuff The Bus” event all week long to collect items for those impacted by the tornadoes in Western Kentucky. You can drop off your donations in front of the VanHoose Education Building from 7:30-4:30 every day this week.”

“This Amazon Wishlist includes items for the affected communities and will go directly to the units that are currently at the sites to help with disaster relief.”

“Starting Tuesday we’re collecting shelf-stable food items and supplies for everyone affected by the tornados in western KY. Feed Louisville, The LEE Initiative, and World Central Kitchen are doing the truly heavy lifting by delivering the items and cooking for those in need. Please drop off whatever you can. We’ll share donation suggestions Tuesday morning.”

“We will be needing things like: portable commercial sized grills + charcoal, generators, large coolers of ice, bottled water, tents, propane space heaters, batteries and flashlights, folding tables, and food trucks. We could also use a few experienced cooks to work with us this week.”

Baby/Child Donations – Glow Worm Play Cafe

“We are collabing with @bonnieknowsbreast to collect donations for the Bowling Green area residents. We are primarily seeking baby and child items. These items will be delivered THIS weekend so we need items ASAP! Any and all lactation supplies will be greatly appreciated. Closed system pumps only. Drop at Glow Worm Play Cafe starting Wednesday – Friday from 9 to 4pm. Please share this far and wide!”

Toy Drive for Children in Mayfield and Dawson Springs – Tea Station Asian Bistro

“We are going to do a toy drive for the Children in Mayfield and Dawson Springs on Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30 am to 9 pm each day. We will have a box truck out front to put the toys in for the children.”

“We have partnered with Black Sheep Jeep Club and are accepting donations for tornado relief for those who were affected by the terrible weather this past weekend. Here is a list of items that we are accepting! But I’m sure anything at all would be greatly appreciated! We are here Monday – Friday 9:00-6:00 and Saturdays 9-1.”
