Five Festive Cocktails for the Holidays

0

Let’s face it. I think we all sharpened our cocktail making skills during the pandemic – or at least I did! Here are 5 festive holiday cocktails that will be sure to bring some holiday spirit to your festive gatherings this season!Let me know what you think!

Lemon Drop

Who doesn’t love a lemon drop? First, you will need fresh lemons, as lemon juice in a bottle will not work. Also, I make my own simple syrup (1:1 ratio water and sugar, boil until sugar dissolves), but you can use pre-made, too. Depending on your glass, add ice. I use crushed in mine because I used a margarita glass. Add your favorite vodka. One shot or more depending on your preference. Fill most of the glass with simple syrup slowly to help mix with the vodka. Last, squeeze some lemon juice. I use about 1/4 of the lemon. Then, top with a slice of lemon. You can also line the rim with sugar by just wetting the rim and dipping in sugar before you fill.

Well, I spruced it up a bit with some cranberry vodka because I love cranberries!

Appley Ever After

If you don’t feel like making your own cocktail, I highly recommend the Appley Ever After at a local spot and LMC favorite, V-Grits. It consists of a silver tequila, Cointreau, apple cider, lime juice, maple syrup, with a cinnamon sugar salt rim, garnished with an apple slice, and Cinnamon Stick.

I describe it as a Fall drink with a touch of Summer. It is so refreshing and comforting at the same time.
